Device and operation of the sifter.
The sifter consists of a supporting frame, a receiving hopper, a sieve, a discharge tray with a magnetic catcher of metal impurities and a power unit. The sieve is suspended from the frame on elastic suspensions, which allows it to move in the horizontal plane. The power unit is an electric motor connected by a belt transmission to a crank-and-rod mechanism, which converts the rotational movement of the motor shaft into the reciprocating movement of the screen.
Sifting takes place as follows. The bag of flour is installed on the support platform. The sifter starts. The flour is loaded in portions (8-10 kg) into the receiving hopper and is poured through a sieve onto the outlet tray into a container prepared in advance. After finishing work, the sifter is turned off. All retained impurities are periodically removed from the surface of the sieve with a brush.
